I stopped wearing makeup since Jakarta government enacted all the office employees to stay and work from home since the pandemic is getting worse and the death rate increases. People try to keep their mind sane so there are so many unique and fun activity created on socials lately, and one of them is #passthebrush challenge. So what does this challenge affects on my makeup routine?
Well, before this hella crazy things happen, I have a super simple makeup routine, let's say, I only use like 4 products; tinted sun screen, eyebrows pencil, blush on, and a lipstick to lit up my face. And then #passthebrush challenge went insane all over social media. Imagine that I can find 4-5 #passthebrush videos on Instagram explore page in one scroll. Theeeeen my friend asked me to do this! The concept of this challenge is before and after you put on makeup, make your face more different than before. Since I have a super minimal makeup routine, I just had to elevate my makeup even though it has small difference on my face.
Sooooo basically these all are my makeup products that I use for my new makeup routine! Super simple, takes approximately 5-7 minutes to do.
💄 Skin Aqua Sunscreen UV Moisture Milk 50 SPF
This is the most crucial part of makeup. Before put on complexion, I use this product for the sake to keep my skin protected from the UV rays. Since Jakarta is so fricken hot and the UV Index is pretty high (it is dangerous to our skin!), sun screen is a must. What I genuinely like about this product is, it gives me protection I want. I only take four dots into my face and then boom, the sun screen is fully applied. Sadly, since I used to wear this every single day before my daily activity, it runs out so quickly lolll. But this sunscreen still my cup of tea. I've been wearing this for 2 years now. Sorry there's no photo for this one, I ran out of it😂
💄 Emina Beauty Bliss BB Cream (shade: Light & Caramel)
You probably wonder why I use two shades. Two months ago, my impulsive brain bought the shade Caramel right away before swatching it first. It looked pretty bright with the lighting from the store. But once I tried to use it at home, dang it was SOOOO dark. I always have this thought that my skin is pretty dark but that occurrence proved my skin is NOT that dark. Then, my impulsive asssss brain bought another shade and that is Light because I have this idea of mixing those two shades. But it works well in the end though.
For your information in advance, Emina is one of the best Indonesian local makeup brand in my opinion. Emina never fails me tho, at least until now.
💄 Eyebrows pencil from some Japanese local makeup brand that I don't know the name of
When I went to Japan, I bought this random eyebrow pencil because I desperately in need of eyebrow pencil since mine was running out already. I bought this for 600¥ for a small size and so not pigmented eyebrow pencil. Jeezzz. But it is fine though since this product is build up-able.
💄 Laneige Light Fit Powder (shade: 02 Bright Pink)
After the complexion is nicely and evenly put, I use this Laneige powder. It actually gives me some matte but not that matte effect. It does its job greatly, though. Sadly I only wear this once for the challenge lmaoo. Let's hope the pandemic is over soon so I'm able wear this again.
💄 Canmake Blush On (shade: 16)
This product is a compact, but not a powder blush on. It is like gel?? I don't know but you're suppose to tap the product on your cheek to apply. I never into this kind of blush on before because I have to tap it with my finger. I always stumbled upon powder blush. But I decided to give it a whirl because the shade color catched my eyes.
This product, daaang dude. This is a Japanese product but this blush on is providing me the pigment I want. Not too subtle, easy to build, and really gives that blushy look. I wear this after the powder, as the powder overshadow the intensity of the blush in my opinion.
💄 Maybelline The Powder Mattes (shade: Toasted Brown) & Peripera Ink Gelato (shade: 05 Fun Place Deep Red)
The last step on my makeup routine is put on some lipsticks. As I have warm skin undertone, the Maybelline one suits me so well. It is a brown shade with a glimpse of orange in it. But most of the time I don't wear it alone, because I want to give some pop to my face.
The minus is, wearing the Maybelline one alone gives the desaturated effect to my face, you get the point. So, I always add up the Peripera one onto the Maybelline one. It gives the nice ombre lips effect when I want to do the natural look. If I'm in mood for slightly bold look, I will put on Peripera first, then Maybelline on top, it will gives nice matte brick red color to my lips. (wowww sis improvised on her makeup look dang)
That's pretty much it! I am not a makeup person but i'd love to put on some makeup, so the product doesn't change throughout the time. Hope yall enjoy <3
