College life is something I have always been dreamed of since I was in high school. I wondered what it feels like because I often saw many college vlogs as I was looking for study tips on Youtube, but I ended up watching them loll what is my life.
High school period is like two years ago, and guess what?? I am a second year student now! I finished my fourth semester and fortunately I got great GPA that I think could make my parents really proud, and I'm so glad! For you guys who may not know, I am in Information System major and I was a member of my faculty organization (BEM in Indonesian).
4th semester honestly almost got me tripping and I was nearly getting overwhelmed by it. I can say that 4th semester was the busiest semester in my entire college life, among first until third semester. Endless assignments, such as programming and paper assignments forced me to pull an all nighter.
Moreover, my organization's work program has became more arduous and a little bit burdensome, as we ran the biggest work program among the others, and it was an e-sport competition and seminar for public, so we really have to make sure everything going smoothly from the beginning until the end, because we have responsibility to all the participants. Even though we had sponsorships, but still, the event is ours and the problem is ours to handle. So I really had to think how can I manage to balance university and organization at that point.

I did manage to balance those two though. It was really hard for me to keep my uni in touch, especially when I had to skip class for a whole week, which means I have to skip programming class too. I used to have this mindset, once I skip programming class then I won't understand the topics for the rest of the lectures (because I am pretty weak but not too weak in programming class). But I succeeded to brush aside that notion. I asked my dear friends (honestly without them, I would completely suffer) to send me the latest lectures and I studied hard for less than a day, and pulled an all nighter to also do the assignment for the lecture. At the end of the day, I did it anyway.
But my suffering is not over yet. Fifth semester is about to come (on August), and I have to prepare to take my classes. College is so much different from high school, in college, we are able to choose our own classes, whether it is from lower semester (if you don't pass a certain lecture) or higher semester (if you meet the lecture criteria, I mean, you have to pass certain lecture to take the more advance lecture). I'm one of those lucky students who could pass them all, so I am capable to take a lecture from higher semester, but of course, I still have to adjust my schedule so all the lectures I take won't clash.

In Information System major, it has two different specialization (or minor), and those are Database Terapan (DT we call it, or Applied Database in English) and Business Intelligence. Second year student must take one of them, and then we take all the lectures that relate to the minor we took, because the minor takes effect on our thesis on the last year. I don't make a final decision on which one I will take yet, because each specialization has its own difficulty levels. But I completely hope the one I'll take won't complicate me in the end.
That is all for my college rant! I'll keep you guys updated :-)
